🪨 Observation before interpretation

A sample starts a question.

Build a more careful reading habit for geological observations, sampling context, resource discussions, and the uncertainties behind an exploration story.

FIELD QUESTION 01

Name the evidence

Was the result a surface observation, sample, drill intercept, or model update? Preserve the specific evidence type rather than translating every result into a statement about an entire deposit.

FIELD QUESTION 02

Keep the context

Record where and why samples were collected, the method described, and the uncertainty acknowledged. A strong result from one location should not silently stand in for material that has not been characterized.

FIELD QUESTION 03

Ask the next question

What observation would strengthen or change the interpretation? What remains unknown about material, scale, and processing? Use the gold and rare earth guides to connect exploration to the later questions in a complete project.

Start with the evidence. The linked Gold Mining: From Exploration to Recovery develops this collection’s key distinctions, includes a supporting source note, and connects you to the next useful question. Use the editorial standards to understand how examples and claims are presented.
